About

La Fabra Centre d’Art Contemporani is a public facility located on the Fabra i Coats site in the Sant Andreu district of Barcelona. It is an independent space that, since 2012, has focused on the research, production, exhibition and promotion of contemporary art practices.

To prompt a new phase, while upholding the artistic autonomy of the centre, Barcelona City Council’s Institute of Culture (ICUB) and MACBA are joining forces to make the resources of both their organisations available to La Fabra Centre d’Art Contemporani to promote its growth and consolidation. This collaboration aims to strengthen its local, national and international projection.

The art programme, under the direction of Claudia Elies, focuses on the local fabric of visual arts, networking, community involvement and an international outlook, as well as the neighbourhoods of Sant Andreu and Barcelona, doing so from an ecofeminist and intergenerational perspective.
