Míriam Cano, born in Molins de Rei in 1982, is a journalist, writer and translator. She teaches at the Escola Bloom, where she runs seminars on reading and poetry writing, and regularly contributes to several Catalan cultural outlets as a columnist and literary journalist. Her published poetry collections include Buntsandstein (Martí Dot Prize 2012), Ancoratge [Anchoring] and Vermell de Rússia [Russian Red]. Cano is also the author of the short story ‘La Comuna de París’ [The Paris Commune], included in the Cremen cels [Burning Skies], co-written with Martí Sales and Antònia Vicens. As a translator, she has translated works by Emily Dickinson, Albert Camus, Sandra Cisneros, Maggie Nelson, Lauren Groff, Martha Nussbaum, Joanna Russ and John Ashbery into Catalan.
