de Roberto Bolaño

When he died in 2003, Roberto Bolaño was writing five novels at the same time. These were published posthumously as a single novel, 2666, which Àlex Rigola and Pablo Ley have now adapted for the stage under the same title. The many stories that form the plot to 2666 centre around a Mexican town where a series of sadistic murders are taking place. Born in Chile but Mexican by adoption, in 1977 Roberto Bolaño moved to Catalonia, where he wrote such works as The Savage Detectives and a collection of short stories entitled El gaucho insufrible. Bolaño was posthumously awarded the 2004 Salambó prize for 2666.
