Bach to the Future 1.0

Cia. RAU (Carles Marigó / Jaume Sangrà)

An interdisciplinary show combining music and physical theatre transports us to a new universe generated by a collision between Johann Sebastian Bach and artificial intelligence.

Bach’s music invites us to reflect on humanity and its capacity for artistic creation, the ego, the concept of transcendence and faith.

This project by Cia. RAU, whose specialised creations develop artistic projects where the poetry of music and physical theatre engage with one another to provide a particular and critical vision of reality. On this occasion the company will be collaborating with Lo Desconcert, an up-and-coming collective based in Germany and devoted to the re-interpretation of ancient and contemporary music. This creative process has also enjoyed the support of the Bachcelona Festival, who produce the show; Artifícia, a Barcelona platform for the democratisation of artificial intelligence and its uses, and the researchers from Goldsmiths, University of London, Matthew Yee-King and Mark d’Inverno.

A coproduction by Festival Bachcelona, Cia. RAU, Barcelona Music Lab, Fundació Joan Miró, Artificia i Golsdmiths and University of London.
