Mímulus

The pianist and composer Clara Peya presents her latest album, a selection of songs that takes its title from the name of a flower and includes such guests as the singer Judit Neddermann.

She releases an album almost every year, because she is a hyperactive artist who has given her body and soul to music. She studied at the Catalan College of Music, but is not only an outstanding piano player, but also a highly sensitive composer able to fuse the most different rhythms and styles whilst also putting enormous feeling into her every work. Now, she presents her latest effort, Mímulus, at the Grec Festival of Barcelona. According to Peya herself, the album, which takes its title from the name of a plant, will help us to face fear of the known and to go through life more confidently. For, in this new work, the Peya sings of everyday fears, those we know and are always present, those that hold us back and can only be broken when we sing and cry. Clara Peya is accompanied by an excellent line-up of artists, including the voices of Ferran Savall and a young artist, Judit Neddermann, with whom Peya had already recorded two albums performed with live on previous occasions.
