Gani Mirzo

  • Música

What is the link between Kurdish and Eastern music and flamenco? The answer, without doubt, is Gani Mirzo, a Kurdish musician born in Syria who delved deeply into the world of flamenco whilst studying at the Liceu Conservatory. A composer of soundtracks for documentaries, Mirzo provided the music for Comediants’ show Les 1001 nits, winning a Max nomination for best music. Mirzo has also released three albums, and leads a trio that both fuses Kurdish and flamenco music and plays Kurdish music for lute, accompanied by flamenco guitar and oriental percussion. At this concert, we will hear tracks from all his albums, as well as new pieces from a new recording due for release towards the end of the year.
