KAMS Connection: una xarxa per crear relacions entre Corea i Barcelona

Beginning in July this year, artists and scientists from South Korea and Barcelona will take part in a cooperation initiative, the KAMS Connection, in which professionals from both backgrounds will explore the connections between art, science and technology.

In this way, Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB) through the Grec Festival of Barcelona, joins an international project organised by the Korea Arts Management Service, which fosters contact between Korean and foreign artists, promoting residencies for its artists in other countries and inviting those from countries to Korea. The Korea Arts Management Service has established agreements of this type with Australia, Denmark and New Zealand, amongst others.

Under the agreement established between them, the KAMS and ICUB will adopt the relationship between art and science as the theme of this first cooperation experience. The goal is to promote mutual understanding of these respective spheres by both parties, and to foster relations between professionals in both countries and the establishment of networks and partnerships between them.

Each of the delegations, one Korean and one from Barcelona, will travel to the host country for a week to take part in a varied programme of round tables, seminars, debates and meetings.

The Korean visitors selected by KAMS and ICUB will travel to Barcelona this July, whilst the Barcelona representatives selected by ICUB will visit Seoul in October.
