Jordi Galí / Cie. Arrangement Provisoire

Five performers create a work of ephemeral architecture by manipulating a series of ropes in an art installation that explores the relationship between the body and the object.

You can come once the structure is already standing, enter it or just take a quick look. Come by day or at night, when the lighting will give it a fascinating appearance, but what is best is to see the performers erect this monumental structure, enjoying the installation right from the start. In the centre is an aluminium mast, twelve metres high, from which hang nearly two hundred ropes. Five members and associates of the company will work with them, weaving a space so that, at the end of the action, the meaning and need for each gesture will become clear. You will see these performers-cum-builders work for a period of two hours, during which time you'll be free to come and go or observe their operations from any angle. Maibaum is the brainchild of Jordi Galí, a young choreographer and dancer trained at Barcelona Theatre Institute. Having performed in pieces by choreographers like Wim Vandekeybus, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Maguy Marin, Galí began working on a personal creative project that led him to found and direct the company Arrangement Provisoire. Together, they have created shows that meditate on the dialogue between gesture and object.
