A Catalan choreographer with his own company in France combines a family history and the films of an experimental director to create three pieces in which the everyday gives way to a world of fantasy.
Tomeo Vergés infuses this triptych with the results from his studies of the repetition and break-down of movement. He takes his inspiration from both a story about his own family, specifically that of his grandmother, who entered into a strange ménage à trois when her first husband returned long after the end of the war, and the films of director Martin Arnold, who uses found footage. From experimental vaudeville to the recurring dream, all three pieces explore the mechanisms of our unconscious.

Anatomia pública
What lurks beneath the apparent surface of our acts? Like a scalpel that slices the skin to lay bare the internal viscera, the deconstruction and break-down of body movement reveal the strata and layers that shape our actions.
Taking inspiration from autobiographical elements and the films of Martin Arnold, with their shocks, convulsions and short circuits, Anatomia pública is a work that seeks to break down gesture. Part timepiece, part hysterical story, the show meditates on the mechanisms that are at work on our unconscious. An experimental vaudeville that fuses eccentricity, humour and cruelty.

Troubles du rythme
A piece inspired by a domestic scene that is repeated using cinematic techniques: slow motion, speeding up, reversal, desynchronisation... Changes in speed and rhythm enable us to see what we usually escapes our view, whilst the action becomes by turn burlesque, dramatic and fantastic.

Syndrome amnésique avec fabulations
The final piece in this triptych is concerned with repetition. In a scene that constantly restarts, again and again, four men invent a multiplicity of duets, changes in role and splitting of characters to talk about the unconscious. A recurring dream whose interpretation plunges us into the mysteries of the dream world.
