Antonio Carvajal i Alberto García Demestres

Mariana Pineda was executed on 26 May 1831, accused of conspiring against King Ferdinand VII’s absolutist regime. This tragic fate turned her into a symbol of the defence of freedom and progress. Now, the poet Antonio Carvajal and the composer Alberto García Demestres pay homage to Mariana Pineda in a chamber opera. This production features the voices of Olivia Biarnés, Enric Martínez and Alberto García Demestres himself. The stage director is Xavier Albertí.
