Nit de musicals: Una nit a Broadway

After the success in 2014 of the first Nit de musicals, dedicated to the pianist and composer Albert Guinovart, “Musical Night” returns to the magical open-air setting of the Teatre Grec de Montjuïc once more, to entertain us with a quality repertoire of popular numbers. This year, the show will feature great tunes from the stages where they were created and first performed, in musicals: the theatres of Broadway. The music in this large-format concert will be provided by Barcelona Municipal Band, conducted by Salvador Brotons. This time around, “Musical Night” invites us to pack our imaginary case to journey through legendary musical themes ranging from Gershwin’s classic Strike Up the Band to the more recent The Producers, by Mel Brooks, not to mention The Phantom of the Opera, My Fair Lady and West Side Story, among many others. This repertoire will be performed by outstanding singers in a show that also features dancers and is produced in cooperation with the leading schools of musical theatre in Barcelona, presenting up-and-coming talents in the genre.
