The concept of death provides the a starting point for this piece, winner of the 2014 Adrià Gual Prize, an innovative, multidisciplinary work that focuses on the expressive value of the image.
Actors and ordinary people meet on stage to form a heterogeneous community that celebrates an unusual ritual. Through individual stories, memories and feelings, these characters will narrate the vital transformation they are undergoing. In this show, the intimate and the communal, the magical and the earthly, life and death, all take part in an endless dance, the dance of creation. Només ens vol protegir del cel is at once a return to the roots and a flight forward, a story of transformation and survival. The show explores the narrow border between the unusual and the everyday. Eschewing more conventional narratives, this pieces fuses different peforming arts languages to create a truly harmonious whole.
