Nowhere in particular

  • Escena híbrida

David Climent / Sònia Gómez / Pere Jou

Perhaps the hole in the wall is even more interesting than the wall itself ... Three actors, performers, choreographers and musicians believe it, willing to put under the spotlight those fractures of reality that tend to disrupt our world.

This piece is a celebration of human interaction, displayed as a meeting between three friends on a night out or among three strangers on the subway. Five minutes of our life, expanded disproportionately. Any framework is good to talk about the small details that run our daily interactions. Gestures, rising eyebrows, smiles, conventions, tapping on the back, not holding the gaze more than what is considered habitual, laughing at a joke or behaving like a normal person. They are resources that we use to communicate automatically, in an unconscious way. This piece reflects on that, on the extent to which all those daily conventions are taken for granted. Conventions that, after all, build us as people, define us. Nowhere in particular aims to explain that all these conventions take place here and there, in a nightclub and in an office, in a zebra crossing and in all the dining rooms of all the houses. It aims to explain that often we might not say anything and we say it all with just a nod of the head.

Sònia Gómez (creative authora among other scenic projects like my mother and I or experiences with a estranger, Mi madre y yo o Experiencias con un desconocido), had already col.laborated on the one hand with David Climent from loscorderos·sc (remember the performance Tata Mala seen at the Grec 2016) and on the other hand with Pere Jou in the dance and music proposal Apel·lació a la pedra (2017). In this one though, it is the first time the three artists coincide together in the same performance.
