and the Barcelona Big Latin Ensemble

Afro-Cuban sounds and Mediterranean rhythms meet in the Barcelona Big Latin Ensemble, an all-star band made up of Latin jazz musicians with links to Barcelona. This debut performance features Omara Portuondo, the leading lady of Cuban music who has worked with Nat King Cole, the Orquesta Aragón and Chucho Valdés, amongst many more. In the first part of the concert, Omara Portuondo will sing her classic hits, whilst in the second, Ramon Escalé will lead the performance of a Latin jazz suite based on texts by poets from either side of the Atlantic.
