Work to transform La Rambla reaches the central section

As of today, 17 November, work moves into the central section of the avenue with the first work in the upper part between Pl. Catalunya and C/ Portaferrissa and occupying the half of the avenue on the side of El Raval, between the streets of Pelai and Tallers. A third space will be occupied in front of the Palau Moja from Monday, 24 November, which on this occasion will take up the entire central section.

The work starting now will be carried out in sections, enabling pedestrian movement to be maintained and with no disruptions to vehicles. To facilitate pedestrian movement, the Raval side of La Rambla will have a route opened up through the area previously occupied by the work in this part of the avenue.

During the work, there is an information point on the new Rambla located at the Palau de la Virreina (La Rambla, 99) and known as the Espai Rambla. It is tasked with centralising information and communication with the general public, social, economic and cultural stakeholders, organisations, local associations and people in general about how work is progressing and what the future Rambla will be like.

Information at a street level will be boosted from 17 November to 19 December, from Monday to Friday, 10 am to 2 pm, and 4 pm to 8 pm, with two teams of information staff making their way around businesses in La Rambla to provide information on the new work, the existence of the Espai Rambla and to handle doubts and queries.
