Barcelona Cuida has already opened its doors. It is a pioneering center in the city of Barcelona that wants to give visibility to all the resources existing in the city in the field of care and make them accessible to everyone. The space will be provisionally located at Avinguda Marquès de l’Argentera, 22.

What do we mean as a cure? The cure is a broad concept that encompasses all the activities that are done to respond to the physical, psychological and emotional needs of one or more people both in the private sphere and in the public sphere. But above all it is an activity that some people carry out towards other people.

In this sense, Barcelona Cuida – Information and Orientation Area wants to be a reference device to facilitate the information to the citizens about all the services and resources available in the territory, to raise awareness among citizens about caring and to promote the exchange and networking among all the agents in the territory. The center is one of the actions planned in the Government Measure for the democratization of care (2017-2020) and in the City Strategy of support for caregivers.

Who are the targeting?

In Barcelona, one in four people cares for another person in their family network and there are more than 55,000 people registered in the “work at home” regime of the Social Security. That is why Barcelona Cuida is aimed at people who care for relatives or close friends; as home care caregivers; social, community and health professionals; entities of the field of the care and people that want to plan their care. The space offers them, at different levels and attending to their needs, information and guidance on their own care, on possibilities of employment and professional training, legal counseling and emotional support for caregivers.

The Barcelona Cuida space, on Avinguda del Marquès de l’Argentera, 22, will remain open from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm and from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, as well as the first weekend of the month (Saturday, of 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 10:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.). Those interested in doing any queries can also be directed via email or through the telephone.
