Barcelona hosts the World Roller Games in July 2019
July 2019 will see the Montjuïc Olympic Ring once again become the epicentre for world sport when it plays host to the second edition of the World Roller Games, the biggest international roller sports event on the planet, bringing over 4,000 athletes from 115 countriesto Barcelona. This is going to be a unique sporting occasion, with a total of 10 World Championships and 150 competitions held in a single event.
The Montjuïc Olympic Ring will be the main venue for much of the calendar, with the World Championships in the Palau Sant Jordi, in the Parc de Montjuïc, the Sant Jordi Club, INEFC, and the esplanade. The CEM de La Mar Bella, the CEM Horta and the Palau Blaugrana will be playing host to most of the inline hockey and roller hockey competition, not to mention that roller sports will also be taking place in its urban patch in such venues as the Front Marítim, Avinguda Reina Maria Cristina and Diagonal-Passeig de Gràcia. The competition’s sub-headquarters will be Vilanova, Mollet, Terrassa and Sant Cugat.
