As from January 2021, Barcelona Activa will be offering specific training in spheres such as:

• Acquisition of digital skills
• Detection of fake news
• Oral and written expression
• Enterprise in journalism

The agreement with the Catalan Association of Journalists also involves a study to assess the state of journalism and communication in the Barcelona metropolitan area, to detect niches and gauge the evolution of professional openings, particularly in the digital sphere.

The training offering by Barcelona Activa will not be aimed exclusively at professionals in journalism and the media. It will also include training blocks in the Antenes Cibernàrium initiative, linked to media literacy and mainly aimed at the elderly and the young to teach them to detect false rumours and false news and not fall victim to them. These groups can also benefit from other training resources, such as the workshops on oral and written expression or how to structure ideas and messages and communicate better.
