Companies from all around the world can take part in the challenge ‘How can we reduce the environmental footprint of the technology sector to respond to the climate emergency?’. The challenge is being launched by the Digital Future Society, an initiative by the City Council, Mobile World Capital Barcelona and Red.es, with support from the Fundació BIT Habitat, and forms part of the strategy to promote the 2030 Agenda.

The goal is to find two technological solutions to measure and reduce the environmental footprint of companies in this sector, both private and public, taking into account the stages in the lifecycle of products and services they offer or their ICT infrastructure.

Projects should be put forward via the Digital Future Society website and must respond to the challenge call, offer specific quantifiable results and be able to be executed with 12 months.

The projects should also use software or machinery which can be combined with consultancy activities, strategic assessment and knowledge management.

This international call is open to any type of company and projects may be presented up until 5 June.
