New inclusive children’s play area in the neighbourhood of El Congrés i els Indians

The remodelling project for the Jardins de Massana includes an area with swings and climbing elements, along with a sandpit for children to experiment with and spaces for free play. Local people backed the project through the participatory budgets. Work will get under way in May and should be completed at the end of the year.

The transformation of the Jardins de Massana also includes improved access to the site, which is located in the inner space between some buildings, creates paths with parterres and adds urban furniture.

A city everybody can play in

Twenty children’s play areas will be remodelled this year, adding to the thirty existing areas with these characteristics, where all the games have inclusive elements. The goal is for 90% of citizens to have one of these spaces within 10 minutes of their home in 2025.

The city has nearly 900 children’s play areas in all, a hundred of which have at least one inclusive element.
