From 16 to 29 December, the area of Plaça de Catalunya dedicated to family morning fun welcomed an average of 25,000 visitors a day. Children and adults alike enjoyed hands-on activities and paper crafts, as well as street performances by Silvia Batet, the “eia” circus company, Eléctrico 28, LASALA, Lézards Bleus and Quim Bigas.

Music was the main attraction in the afternoon, with Miqui Puig playing his set to welcome the audience and warm them up for live performances by The Gramophone Allstars Big Band, Mazoni, Tarquim, Saphie Wells, Alba Armengou, Dani Nel·lo, Magalí Datzira, La Maria and Núria Graham.

In the evening, Agrupación Señor Serrano brought each day of the Barcelona Christmas Festival to a close with its large-scale theatre, music and visual arts show Una Taula.

Throughout the fourteen days of the festival, the movements and interactions of passers-by in Plaça de la Universitat were captured to create the urban choreography that was projected every night by the majestic tower of light of the interactive audiovisual installation Analema, an original idea by Sónar to celebrate its 30th anniversary. On two evenings visitors could also enjoy a live performance by Tarta Relena.

Responsible Consumption and Social and Solidarity Economy Fair

The 9th Responsible Consumption and Social and Solidarity Economy Fair attracted nearly 120,000 visitors, 5,000 more than last year. For 13 days, 62 companies and organisations in 32 tents and stands put the spotlight on responsible consumption and promoted social, local and sustainable purchasing. Around 6,000 people also took part in the activities offered in the Esfera family area, played the responsible consumption game or attended one of the workshops.
