Responsible commerce and culture at La Pionera this summer

La Pionera is opening again this weekend. This open-air site in the Poblenou neighbourhood features responsible commerce stalls from the social economy, live performances and cuisine, making for an alternative and innovative option to visit over various weekends this summer.

La Pionera features stalls with innovative products created by local people in keeping with the values of the initiative: local commerce, opportunities for enterprise, social integration, respect for the environment and solidarity. The site is located where Passeig de Calvell and Rambla del Poblenou meet, and opens from 12 noon to 10 pm.

Besides the stalls, there’s also a full weekend programme of cultural activities.

Saturday 21 July

  • 12.30 pm Concert by the composer, pianist and singer Lu Rois
  • 1.30 pm Summer music with Unpictured DJ
  • 8 pm Cumbia music by Taki Sounds

Sunday 22 July

  • 7 pm Circus show with Mal di Mar
  • 8 pm All-comers swing class with the Swing Maniacs

La Pionera will be opening over the weekends of 4 and 5 August and 18 and 19 August.
