Gabriel García Márquez’s previously unpublished novel presented
Gabriel García Márquez’s posthumous novel, ‘En agosto nos vemos’, was presented at the library named after him in Sant Martí, on the day he would have turned 97.
The presentation ceremony featured the actress Bárbara Lennie, the publisher Pilar Reyes, the designer and painter Gonzalo García Barcha, the son of Gabriel García Márquez, the writer Héctor Abad Faciolince and the cultural journalist Xavi Ayén, along with the music of the Ana Magdalena Ensemble.
The text for the novel was found among the papers deposited with the Harry Ranson Centre, and with the idea of marking the tenth anniversary of the author’s death (17 April 2014), the family re-read the work and decided to publish it.
