Metro lines L2 and L5 are also being refurbished this summer
The Paral·lel - Sagrada Familia section of line L2 will be out of service from 27 July to 30 August in order to carry out infrastructure improvement works. The works on the future Ernest Lluch station (line L5) will entail closing down the service between Can Vidalet and Collblanc stations from 29 July to 1 September, which means that Pubilla Casas station will be closed.
This summer, Barcelona metro is getting ready with a number of actions on the network. 29 June saw the start of the works on line L1, significantly affecting the service between Fondo and El Clot stations.
New works on Barcelona metro, with improvement actions on lines L2 and L5, will begin between Friday 27 and Monday, 29 July. Both actions will be carried out over approximately one month.
Works on line L2
The stretch of line L2 running between Paral·lel and Sagrada Família stations will be out of service between Saturday, 27 July and Friday, 30 August by reason of the works to improve the vibration control infrastructure.
Paral·lel, Sant Antoni, Universitat, Passeig de Gràcia, Tetuan and Monumental stations will therefore be out of service.
Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) recommends that habitual users of this line use the connections to the city’s other metro lines which will enable them, when used in the right combination, to reach the same places and cover similar routes, as well as the bus service, either by combining buses or in combination with the metro system.
Thus, a possible transport option for users can be provided by bus lines D50, H12 or H16, which cover all or part of the route between the stations affected by the closure; in other words, between Paral·lel and Sagrada Família. In addition, the rest of the metro network, particularly line L3 and the lines that connect with it, can also be used.
The rest of line L2, between Sagrada Família and Badalona Pompeu Fabra, will operate as normal.
On the days running up to the closures on line L2, as well as during the first few days, there will be information staff at the affected stations to help citizens find the best alternative routes.

Works on metro line L5
The stretch of line L5 between Can Vidalet and Collblanc stations will be out of service from Monday, 29 July to Tuesday, 1 September inclusive, in order to carry out the necessary works to start operating Ernest Lluch station and repair the tracks. Pubilla Cases station will be closed.
During this time, there will be a special bus service between Can Vidalet and Collblanc, with a stop at the intermediate station of Pubilla Cases, in accordance with the metro timetable. There are also other combinations with the local railway and overground network.
The construction work on Ernest Lluch station has already been completed. The tasks now remaining are focused on conditioning the interior, creating entrances/exits, the architecture, finishes and installations, as well as ancillary constructions, a new ventilation shaft and a set of actions to reinforce the infrastructure and drainage systems.
