New round of subsidies for entrepreneurs
The third edition of the ‘Llança’t’ programme of subsidies for entrepreneurs and self-employed people in their first year of activity is now under way. The economic support is designed to help cover overheads such as social security instalments, rental of office space and services provided by third parties.
Applications for the subsidies can be presented up until 21 June 2019 via the City Council’s procedures website using a digital certificate. The applicant’s first social security instalment must have been after 1 July 2017.
‘Llanca’t’ promotes self-employment, the creation of new economic activity and the enrichment of the city’s business network, as well as helping to reduce unemployment, notably among the over 40s, who account for 50% of the total number of beneficiaries, and the under 30s (14%).
Enterprises which have received support to date mainly correspond to the sectors of business services, commerce and transport and logistics.
The creation of trading companies grew by 4% in the first quarter of 2019 and the number of self-employed people paying social security rose by 1.9% compared to the same period last year.
