Barcelona’s mobile weekThe Mobile World Congress, from 26 February to 1 March, comes with a series of parallel events such as 4YFN, YoMo and Women4Tech.
The mobile fair, this year involving over 2,300 exhibitors and set to attract over 108,000 visitors, once again offers a window of opportunities to establish relations and lay the basis for digital innovation projects, strengthening the city’s economic fabric and demonstrating Barcelona’s ability to attract and retain talent.
One of the events to be held within the framework of the Mobile World Congress is 4YFN, a meeting place for emergent companies, investors, corporations and public institutions to generate new synergies and business opportunities and help local industry grow and strengthen its position.
From 27 February to 2 March, La Farga de l’Hospitalet once again hosts the Youth Mobile Festival, or YoMo, with theatre shows and over a dozen interactive workshops for young people to engage with science and technology.
At the same time, the Mobile World Congress is holding a new edition of Women4Tech, an event aimed at boosting the role of women in the mobile industry and showcasing best practices backing female leadership.
When the congress is over, the Donation Room is an initiative for storing all of the furniture and equipment used on the stands so that the public can re-use them, for instance at fab athenaeums or for festive decoration such as those in Gràcia.
All these initiatives come after the successful conclusion of the second edition of Mobile Week Barcelona, a week which brought science and technology closer to over 16,000 people around the city’s districts with the aim of reflecting on how the digital transformation is changing our daily lives.
