The new lane means that instead of six traffic lanes in the main section of C/ Aragó, there will now be five traffic lanes and one bus lane.

This is one of a series of measures ahead of the Climate Emergency Declaration, which will be in place from 1 January 2020.

The street already has side lanes for buses, but the new measure makes use of the central road section. It is estimated that the new bus lane, from C/ Sicília to C/ Muntaner, could reduce daily traffic in C/ Aragó by six thousand vehicles. The new lane would be exclusively for inter-urban buses and taxis.

Work will be carried out at night between 10.30 pm and 5.30 and continue until the night of 28 November, starting at C/ Sicília and keeping two lanes of traffic open on the side nearest the sea while the work is being done.

There will be no disruptions to mobility during the day.
