New premises at Palo Alto for the GameBCN videogames incubator

The seventh edition of the GameBCN videogames incubation programme is based in new premises at Palo Alto, the new business hub for the creative industries in Sant Martí. The move should help attract talent and continue to drive the creation and development of new companies in the gaming sector in Barcelona and Catalonia.

The six teams taking part in the programme, chosen from nearly a hundred applications, will get 120 hours of training in production, marketing and business practice between 4 March and 30 September, as well as personalised mentoring by experts in this sector. The teams will also enjoy monthly events and talks with experts, plus the chance to present their projects at Gamescom in August, the most important fair in this sector in Europe.

Palo Alto will use this opportunity to present the sessions and talks by GameBCN, open to the entire community, and to work in conjunction with various other stakeholders in the videogaming sector to develop a collaborative network and make the city a leader in the gaming industry in southern Europe.

The Fundació Palo Alto will host this initiative, promoted by the Directorate-General for Innovation and Digital Culture with the Government of Catalonia, the Councillor’s Office for Tourism and Creative Industries with Barcelona City Council and the innovation consultancy Peninsula.

The programme is also backed by strategic partners and large videogaming multinationals, with support from other companies too.
