Belgrado
Barcelona/Poland/Venezuela/United Kingdom
The band Belgrado, based in Barcelona and with members from the United Kingdom, Venezuela and Poland, will delight audiences with a live performance of their fourth album, Intra Apogeum, just launched in 2023.
Since they got their start in 2010, Belgrado has emerged from the Mediterranean underground scene with a post-punk and new-wave style with forays into Italodisco. A Slavic wave will saturate your ears from the very first song thanks to the voice of Patrycja Proniewska singing in Polish, along with Fernando Márquez fusing guitars full of choruses delays with analogue synthesisers, Jonathan Sirit providing melodies with his synthesisers and beat boxes, and Louis Harding driving the beat with a bass compression and such energy that you’ll be unable to sit still.
With an aesthetic influenced by the avant-gardes from the early twentieth century, constructivism and the Bauhaus school combined with the essence of Western retro from the 1980s, Belgrado has taken their music all over the planet, infecting audiences of all cultures with their unstoppable energy, and this September they are coming to the BAM Festival to make all of Barcelona jump.
