BAM 2023 will be treating us all to a performance by alyona alyona, the Ukrainian hip-hop sensation who's taken the music scene by storm in the space of less than a year. alyona alyona has been making music for more than 10 years, but made her début in 2018 with the video Ribki, which went viral and became a huge hit in Ukraine.

The artist raps in her native Ukrainian, and she does it impressively too: the words rush and flow at an astonishing pace. She's already a role model in Ukraine, and aims to make her mark wherever she performs.

Her videos, where she proudly dances like the queen of the street in front of housing projects in her home town of Baryshivka, or appears as a fairy-tale matriarch in a dystopian world, have had millions of views.

In her songs, she likes to talk about women by going beyond the usual clichés of beauty, or talking about the young women who have to leave their home country. An artist with her feet firmly on the ground, she was a primary school teacher and psychologist before deciding to devote herself to music. Now she takes to the stage to showcase her talent and thrill audiences in every city she visits.
