The current boom in the music scene in Catalonia and the Catalan-speaking lands cannot be understood without Els Catarres. This band from Osona are responsible for the resurgence in festive pop-folk music at a national level and have achieved historical feats representing a point of inflection in contemporary Catalan music: for instance, a gold disc for selling over 20,000 copies of Big Bang, eleven Enderrock awards, four ARC awards and two Catalan Disc of the Year awards. 

Els Catarres are a unique, unrepeatable and iconic group, a big name in any line-up who after two years away from the stage are back to shine brightly with their new disc Diamants, sparking joy all around the country. Songs such as Avui t’he vist, Un sostre fet d’estrelles and Diamants, which gives its name to the Enderrock-award-winning album we’ll be hearing at the Bogatell beach, talk of love and disaffection, sadness and joy, nights of euphoria and utopia: in short, life.

The concert by Els Catarres rounds off a night of top-class music organised by Els 40 Principals. The best icing on the cake.
