Concierto solista
Juan Quintero
Argentina
Music / singer-songwriter / Latin American folklore
Singer, guitarist and composer Juan Quintero is one of the most prominent musicians on the Latin American scene. A precocious talent raised in a family of musicians in Tucuman (Argentina), he was initially self-taught, later studied at the National University in La Plata, the capital of the province of Buenos Aires, and then wended his way through different choral and instrumental bands.
His career has run a parallel course between university professorships, stages and recording studios. In Barcelona, as part of Música Mercè, Quintero will present the songs from his latest album, Pago querido in a personal, intimate concert. Only guitar and voice: music with Argentinian roots laden with feelings, which he has turned into a referent for many professionals on the eastern shore of the Atlantic, too.
As a member of the Argentinian band Aca Seca Trío, which has performed all over the world, and as a collaborator of Luna Monti, with whom he created a duo, Juan Quintero has sung alongside Eliseo Parra, Mercedes Sosa, Javier Ruibal and Coetus, among many other renowned artists and bands. This Concierto solista, that he is going to offer in the gardens of Doctor Pla i Armengol, outdoors and with the city as his (and our) feet, promises to be a real treat.
