La Fúmiga have erupted powerfully on the Catalan music scene. Their first disc, Espremedors, has notched up millions of views on digital platforms and earned them various awards. Released two years ago, their latest disc Fotosíntesi has seen La Fúmiga sweep the floor with with a festive and attractive sound that reaches out to young people with rhythms and lyrics to become anthems for an entire generation.
Fotosíntesi is light and growth, and this is what this Valencian band want to transmit, based on their own experience. Their lyrics talk of love and self-esteem, acceptance and self-acceptance, all to the rhythm of festive Mediterranean pop, with the same essence that comes from a powerful live sound, a hallmark of the group, leaving no spectator indifferent.
La Fúmiga are undoubtedly one of the groups who have been received best by intergenerational audiences thanks to their formation, rooted in the phenomenon of Valencian bands, and lyrics and melodies that have young and old brimming with optimism and enthusiasm. It comes as no surprise that they were the headline act in the line-up of fifty concerts in 2022 and are one of the “40 principals” for La Mercè 2023.
