Route: Pl. Nova, C. Bisbe and Pl. Sant Jaume

The Cathedral esplanade will once again this year be the starting point for the Falcons de Barcelona and Falcons de Vilafranca street parade, a prelude to the performance that both these human tower builder groups will be giving in Pl. Sant Jaume. And between these two places, the beginning and end of the parade route, both groups will pass through Pl. Nova and along C. Bisbe, inviting everyone to come and watch the final display.

The Falcons won’t be alone: the Grup de Grallers i Tabalers (gralla players and drummers) that will be accompanying them during the show will also be providing a series of melodies along the parade route, with popular catchy tunes like La polca d’Ours, Set salts and Lo tio Pep. Impossible not to feel like dancing!

The Falcons de Barcelona and Falcons de Vilafranca will be just one of the many street events taking place on the Saturday of La Mercè. As many as eight traditional acts will be taking to the streets and squares of the Ciutat Vella in parades and more so that the people of Barcelona can enjoy every kind of popular culture.
