The housing cooperative has reached the world of puppets! L’Extraordinària is a beautiful big house with a little garden and a white wooden fencing, inhabited by a group of elderly people who still have a lust for life and sharing their youth. They all look after each other there, without anybody telling them how they should be doing it. Being old doesn’t mean becoming resigned to it and leaving behind their restlessness and young spirit.
The elderly people living there are very different, but they all help each other and share the housework. They keep really active!
L’Extraordinària blows away the established image of elderly people who limit themselves to watching the days go by, far from the reality of so many senior citizens who face old age as just another stage in life. The creators of the show, companyia eLe, have been exploring new forms of expression through puppets for a decade. Trained in the Pepe Otal workshop, it’s no surprise they opt for puppet theatre that young and old can enjoy.
