'Money Jungle' Show
Carrer de Nàpols, 70
For all audiences
Money Jungle is a short choreography by Alina Sokulska, where she addresses the issues of body representation in the era of capitalistic overproduction. "You have to create problems to create profit" - as it says in the piece, alludes to the idea that a body has to be placed in a turbulent dramatic experience to be able to push the production-consumption machine.
Alina's longtime research in jazz dances enables her to put the "jazz body" in a radical reconceptualization of the cheerful "showtime" language she is twisting, empowered by the music by Duke Ellington, Max Roach, and Charles Mingus.¨
Duration: 6 minutes.
