MudarseInstalarse
Luna Sánchez Arroyo – La Basal
Andalusia, Madrid and Barcelona
Contemporary dance
From 8 and over
The young creators of La Basal describe themselves as “people constantly moving house” in both the spatial and personal sense. This movement and permanent change is the leitmotif for MudarseInstalarse, a production which explores our desire for permanence and, at the same time, the fear it produces in us. This is the illusion there’s something, at least something, that doesn’t falter; that gives us security without sliding into inertia and paralysis.
The three performers in MudarseInstalarse carry out intermittent movements, specific and yet flowing at the same time. The choreography talks of the need to adapt to the fluid and mutable present; to a dynamic and changing world and growing uncertainty about the future. To that liquid society of Zygmunt Bauman, one of the great thinkers of our time, orphan of solid reference points to cling onto and subjected to the celerity and instability of the everyday.
La Basal is a group which provides support for women artists taking their first steps in the world of the body and movement. A support network which backs ideas and creations.
Show included in the programme coordinated by UnaiUna.
