Barcelona is renowned for its cultural richness in general and musical in particular. The music that resonates in the city’s streets is essentially the result of the talent of many female artists who have lived and still live here. You will find some of them in the programme for this year’s Mercè festival.

Barcelona’s female musicians have left an indelible mark on both the local and global music scene, demonstrating that the power of creativity knows no genre or geographical boundaries. From flamenco to pop, hip hop or opera, these women have always set out to challenge expectations, making a significant contribution to Barcelona’s musical history and beyond.
