Open day at the El Born Centre for Culture and Memory

Open access to the permanent exhibition 'Barcelona 1700. From stones to people’. This exhibition features some 2,100 objects which were found during the archaeological dig at the El Born site and in the surrounding area. These objects have provided us with new and valuable knowledge that helps us to build up a picture of how the inhabitants of Barcelona lived three centuries ago. The objects are also a great tribute to the inhabitants of the neighbourhood who were expelled after 1714: the Barcelona of the 21st century has recovered the objects they were unable to take with them in 1716 and 1717 when they were driven out of their homes, to show them to the world.
