A woman clown feels she can’t make people laugh any more as she's lost the nose that enabled her to discover the world through the eyes of empathy and surprise. She’s tried everything to get back that extraordinary ability, but she can’t do it. Yet as she explains her predicament to the audience, she realises the community is her salvation.
In Riures per Colòmbia, the woman clown is abducted by a divine giant nose which grants her glory. This way she realises her dream of becoming a rock star and even reaches the level of sensei clown, as she has discovered the secret of her art and the very reason for sharing the world collectively. Her discovery has much to do with the African Ubuntu philosophy: the belief in a universal human bond which enables humans to overcome challenges as we are all connected.
Co-founder and general director of the Colombian Clown Network, Tatiana Torres Ruiz is the creator and performer in a show that also allows her to connect, directly and interactively, with children from underprivileged environments in Colombia. Laughter knows no frontiers!
