Sardana Gathering. Agrupació Cultural Folklòrica Barcelona. Cobla Marinada

Founded in 1981 in Badalona, Cobla Marinada is one of the most active ensembles in the Sardana world. The ensemble is renowned for its extensive musical repertoire, including cornerstone pieces from the world of Cobla and more contemporary, newly composed pieces.

The third and final Sardana Gathering dance organised by the Agrupació Cultural Folklòrica Barcelona (ACFB) for La Mercè 2023 features a Cobla ensemble that performs at most major open-air gatherings and Sardana concerts throughout Catalonia. It has performed at the Pau Casals International Festival, the Ripoll Music Festival, and on distinguished stages such as the Palau de la Música, L’Auditori, the Royal Palau de Pedralbes, and other Catalan and European venues. Joan Pich i Santasusana, Joan-Josep Blay, Jaume Vilà, Esteve Molero, and Alfons Reverté, its current conductor, have all taken the baton for Cobla Marinada, as have guest conductors like Antoni Ros-Marbà, Salvador Brotons, Francesc Burrull, and many others.

Don’t miss this opportunity to dance with the accompaniment of a Cobla ensemble recognised with the 2015 Sardana Capital Award, among other honours, and boasting a broad and diverse repertoire.
