Gaga is the movement language of the renowned dance company Batsheva, one of the biggest names on the international circuit; it consists of connecting with one’s body and imagination through movement, to experience new physical sensations, improve flexibility and resistance... It is not, however, a practise restricted to professional dancers: everyone can be Gaga people!
Ariadna Monfort is a specialist in this technique and wants to share her knowledge with the public at La Mercè. So, on the bridge of the Estació del Nord park, she will be offering a class that anyone who wishes to can take part in. We’ll be dancing to evocative images that will stimulate our imaginations, we’ll be connecting with the pleasure of movement, and we’ll discover that, in effect, Gaga is an excellent way to improve agility. No previous dance experience is required to enjoy this discipline.
For three years, dancer Ariadna Monfort was a member of Batsheva, the best school for learning Gaga. Since 2008 she has been introducing people of all ages and backgrounds to this physically challenging sensory practice. Gaga people is freedom, celebration, harmony and lightness.
