La Piedra de Madera is an intergenerational meeting point. A place where young and old can share an experience through the languages of circus, trust and humour.

Based on the object that gives its name to the show, a metaphor for having to fit in at all costs in our world, Celso Pereira, Francesca Lissia and José Luis Redondo, the heart and soul of the “eia” circus company and creators of this production, address different very topical themes: difference, fear and the unquestionable social value of performing arts.

The scenes that we see and experience in La Piedra de Madera take place, repeat and transform; the audience is an essential part of the show, another performer: its active participation offers different points of view, unexpected options. Because, like stones in a cliff face that are shaped by the force of knocks and blows, we all imitate, even those who are not stone.

All trained at the Carampa de Madrid circus school, and Pereira and Líssia, at The School of Dance and Circus at Stockholm University, the members of “eia” have received numerous awards, including the City of Barcelona Award and the Max for the best new show, for previous projects.
