Merak means ‘feeling of oneness’ in Serbian. The aim of this installation is to reflect the relationship and connections between living things and the planet. These connections are crucial in the life cycle, because it is thanks to them that we evolve and create relationships that become brighter or dimmer over time.

LCI Barcelona’s proposal, based on Jean Nouvel’s sculpture of a well, is a radial sequence of beams of light that become activated by the presence of visitors from the outside all the way to the middle of the sculpture, representing the connections between people and the planet.

Inside the sculpture, a pulsing light represents the heart of the earth alongside another beam of light, revealing its relationship with the outside just like the well originally did.
