Every year, during the Three Kings festival, a scene is repeated in thousands of homes: a laid table, a tortell in the centre, the knife that turns and slices, the pieces that are handed out, the surprise of finding—or not—the bean or the king figure. Al voltant takes its inspiration from this everyday scene and transfers it to the public space, turning an intimate gesture into a collective and monumental experience.
The installation consists of an inflatable tortell six metres in diameter, illuminated from within, which occupies the DHub lobby, as a disproportionate and surprising presence and turns it into a huge Christmas table. The installation also incorporates an interactive device that invites the public to participate in this expanded ritual.
