The city’s retail associations are teaming up with the Department of Commerce, Catering and Consumer Affairs to offer another Christmas full of cultural, recreation and artistic activities so everyone can enjoy the city’s festivities.
Retail Christmas invites you to enjoy a whole host of interactive family activities designed to suit all tastes: music, theatre, dance, storytelling, kids’ workshops and plenty more. Are you going to miss out on them? You can check out the entire programme, district by district, here.
Have fun around the city’s chopping hubs and districts this year with the activity “Let’s play for Christmas”, a collection of giant games to promote responsible consumption, recycling and care of the environment. You can also take part in the “Christmas allotment”, a family allotment workshop to promote sustainable food, local commerce and responsible consumption. There’s also a chance to see the theatre piece Trobadors i commerciants and discover a string of festive tales and magical and mysterious worlds through the eyes of two troubadours and their puppets.
Besides these activities, this year you can also laugh your socks off with the gesture and poetry show Le Petit Théâtre Ambulant; learn to dance to the most iconic Christmas songs with the workshop “A blockbuster Christmas”; get carried away with the best in live swing, jazz and Dixie, with “Christmas fanfare”, or marvel at the a capella voices of the concert Xmas Rocks.
If you like books, cooking and dance, you’re sure to love the show Ballar amb un llibre de cuina. The antics of the three fun characters from the Cirquet Confetti give life to the show A la fresca, and there’s also a chance to learn artistic hairdressing to the rhythm of music with the workshop “Christmas with your hair down”.
Barcelona’s Christmas song this year was composed by a group called The Sey Sisters. It’s a piece dedicated to the city and its residents. "Petites Coses" is infused with Christmas spirit, the city, neighbourhoods, celebrations, extraordinariness, hope and positive energy. We invite you to enjoy it!
You’ll have all these activities close to home again this year. Are you going to miss out on them?
