Barcelona will have tens Christmas-tree collection points distributed throughout its ten districts and in service from 7 to 17 January 2025.

Barcelona will have tens Christmas-tree collection points distributed throughout the city.

The City Council will be setting up tens of points, spread around the city's 10 districts, for collecting Christmas trees and other vegetable decorations. They will be open from 7 to 17 January 2025.

Trees will be pulped after 17 January and their remains left to decompose. They will end up as mulching, which is used for improving humidity retention and aeration in the soil, while providing a natural solution for preventing the growth of weeds.

Before taking them to collection points, remove decorations so trees can be recycled as organic waste and used to make compost.​
