Managing industrial risks

Climate emergency

District of Ciutat Vella

Precontent

The proposal is to start a process of continuous improvement to assess, identify and reduce the main industrial risks, and to develop measures to increase the resilience of services, infrastructures and economic activities in the coastal area. The risks with the greatest impact are chemical risks and those associated with the transport of hazardous goods by road and rail. All of this will take the form of an industrial risk management and resilience plan and the creation of a working and monitoring group. This working group must be able to update the assessment of the different hazards and propose the deployment of the resulting measures aimed at improving resilience.

What are we doing?

In February 2022, the Port of Barcelona approved its own self-protection plan, which will be reviewed every four years. The plan determines the coordination procedures to be applied between the different departments and services of the port and the external bodies that may be affected by the emergency.
