Blanc Festival: designers hold their yearly festival
Museu del Disseny is hosting this year’s more well-rounded festival, with many talks, workshops and exhibitions.
Ten years ago, Blanc Festival got its start in a small conference room and music venue in Vilanova i la Geltrú. Now in its eleventh year, it will be held at Museu del Disseny de Barcelona, which seems like the most natural space for what has been called the yearly festival for designers. The three-day festival is expected to bring together more than 1,000 professionals from all over Spain, who will take part in the extensive programme of talks, masterclasses, workshops and exhibitions, with more than 30 activities in all. This year’s guests are big names from the sector around the world, including Neville Brody, Annie Atkins, Ian Anderson, Snask and Malika Favre, among others. All of them, and the rest of the participants, will speak about a wide variety of topics, including packaging, branding, design thinking, culinary creativity and a minimalist lifestyle. This year, Blanc also features Brut: a section where participants can watch professionals work, live. Other activities include the traditional group meals, an auction of works, a market and the exhibition “Mira a Mir” by Josep Maria Mir.
This year’s Blanc Festival will be held on 3, 4 and 5 October at various times and, as we mentioned, at Museu del Disseny de Barcelona, at Plaça de les Glòries.
There are several types of tickets, ranging from individual events to the full package, with prices between €6 and €290. You can get yours on the Blanc Festival website.
