48h Open House Barcelona

48 hours devoted to the city’s best architecture

48h Open House Barcelona is back with over 200 singular buildings.

Architecture and design fans are eagerly awaiting another edition of 48h Open House Barcelona, when buildings that are normally inaccessible open their doors to the public for a two-day period. The 9th edition of this festival sees the participation of 200 buildings in Barcelona and a number of towns in the surrounding area, including Santa Coloma de Gramenet and Sant Joan Despí. The festival is divided into three sections: Open Social, promoting social awareness through the analysis of architectural and adapted itineraries for great inclusiveness; Open Green, which highlights projects designed for environmental sustainability; and finally Open Infrastructures, which proposes visits to 20 facilities that support the economic and social development of the city and its inhabitability.

Running from 27 to 28 October, 48h Open House Barcelona will open up to the public several striking and iconic constructions, including Arc de Triomf, the orangutan enclosure at Barcelona Zoo, the rainwater deposit in Parc de Joan Miró, Finca Sansalvador and Torre de les Aigües on Tibidabo.

All the activities in the festival are free of charge though you may need to book to visit some buildings. You can check out the whole programme at the following link.
